About Us

We Know What Critical Actually Means

Maple Critical Systems is a specialist safety infrastructure contractor based in Ontario. Our focus is narrow on purpose: guardrail, fall protection, and structural safety barriers for environments where there is no margin for error.

We are a division of MapleState Construction — which means the experience behind this company is real and earned over more than a decade of hands-on commercial and industrial installation work across Ontario. We are not a large firm managing projects from a distance. We are two principals who show up, carry out the work ourselves, and take personal responsibility for every installation that goes out under our name.

As data centre construction accelerates across Ontario — driven by AI infrastructure demand and hyperscale expansion — the need for specialty contractors who truly understand mission-critical environments has grown sharply. The compliance bar is high. The documentation requirements are serious. And facility operators have no patience for contractors learning on the job.

We know the codes, we understand how GC procurement works, and we deliver installations that make a facility manager's life easier — not harder.

Code Compliance Is Not Optional for Us

Every installation is built to current OBC, NBC, CSA Z797, and ESA requirements. A full compliance documentation package is delivered at project close — not as an add-on, but as standard practice.

We Work in Active, Secured Facilities

Data centres, industrial plants, and electrical rooms are sensitive environments. We plan around operational schedules, security protocols, and zero-disruption requirements.

The People You Meet Do the Work

No subcontracting chain, no supervision from a distance. The people you shake hands with are the people who will be on your roof and on your site.

Prequalification-Ready by Default

What We Install

Every Scope a Critical Facility Needs

We cover the full range of guardrail and fall protection scopes found in data centres, industrial plants, and commercial buildings. Every installation is code-compliant, documented, and carried out by the same people who designed it.

01

Rooftop Guardrail Systems

Rooftops on data centres and industrial buildings carry serious fall risk — cooling towers, generators, HVAC platforms, and service walkways create hazards the OBC addresses directly. We design and install compliant perimeter and equipment guardrail systems built for the load requirements of commercial and industrial rooftops across Ontario.

Data CentresHVAC PlatformsOBC Compliant
02

Mezzanine & Platform Railings

Elevated mezzanines, equipment platforms, and catwalks appear throughout industrial and data centre environments. We supply and install structural guardrail systems rated for the load requirements of these applications, with compliance documentation and engineered drawings where required.

03

Fall Protection Systems

Beyond fixed guardrail, many facilities need skylight guards, roof hatch protection, leading edge systems, and anchor points. We design and install CSA Z797-compliant fall protection systems and can provide fall protection plans as part of our scope — a documented requirement on larger Ontario projects.

04

Data Centre Safety Barriers

Inside active data halls, raised floor edge protection, server row barriers, and aisle containment systems are both a safety requirement and an operational tool. We install with a zero-disruption methodology — planned, scheduled, and executed to keep live systems exactly that way.

05

Electrical Room Barriers

High-voltage switchgear, UPS systems, transformer bays, and generator enclosures require safety demarcation meeting both OBC and ESA standards. We install barriers that protect personnel, satisfy inspectors, and hold up in the demanding conditions of electrical and mechanical rooms.

06

Loading Dock & Perimeter Systems

Loading docks, parking structures, and facility perimeters need vehicle barriers, bollards, and edge protection that absorb real-world impact. We supply and install systems engineered for high-traffic and security-sensitive environments across Ontario.

Industries We Serve

Where Our Work Shows Up

We focus on the industries where safety infrastructure is technically demanding, compliance requirements are serious, and the cost of a mistake is genuinely high. That focus makes us better at the work we take on.

Data Centres & AI Infrastructure

The pace of data centre construction across Ontario is unlike anything we have seen before. AI infrastructure investment and hyperscale expansion are driving a build-out that will run for years. These facilities are always-on and unforgiving of errors. Every system inside them — including safety infrastructure — has to be right the first time.

  • Rooftop cooling and generator guardrail
  • Interior raised floor and aisle barriers
  • Electrical room and UPS demarcation
  • Mezzanine and cable tray platform railings
  • Loading dock and perimeter vehicle barriers

Industrial Manufacturing & Processing

Industrial plants, processing facilities, and manufacturing environments have guardrail requirements at every level. We work in active facilities — which means we plan carefully and execute without interrupting production schedules or creating new hazards while we work.

  • Elevated walkways and catwalks
  • Equipment platform railings
  • Rooftop mechanical safety systems
  • Loading and staging area barriers
  • Machinery guarding and segregation barriers

Commercial Real Estate & Mixed-Use

Commercial buildings, retail centres, mixed-use developments, and parking structures all carry fall protection requirements under the Ontario Building Code. We quote accurately from drawings, coordinate with other trades, and deliver without disrupting tenants or daily operations.

  • Rooftop HVAC and mechanical guardrail
  • Parking structure barriers and handrails
  • Skylight guards and roof hatch protection
  • Interior mezzanine and atrium railings
  • Compliance retrofits and inspections

General Contractors & Specialty Subs

Some of our most consistent relationships are with GCs and mechanical or electrical subcontractors who need a reliable specialty partner for guardrail scopes. We arrive prequalified, communicate without prompting, and make this scope disappear cleanly off a GC's plate.

  • Full prequalification documentation available
  • Site-specific safety plans on request
  • Fast quote turnaround from drawings or specs
  • Experienced in phased and multi-trade environments
  • Preferred subcontractor arrangements available

Why Maple Critical Systems

What Sets Us Apart

There are many guardrail contractors in Ontario. What most of them don't have is genuine experience in technically demanding, mission-critical environments — and the compliance knowledge that comes with it.

We are not the biggest company you will consider. But we are the ones who arrive knowing exactly what your facility needs, and leave with a clean installation and a documentation package that holds up to scrutiny.

01

We Specialise, We Don't Generalise

Data centres, industrial plants, and mission-critical facilities are what we know. That focus means we understand the environment before we arrive, not after.

02

Documentation Is Part of the Job

Every installation comes with a compliance documentation package as standard. Code references, as-built details, and inspection records are included.

03

No Surprises on Site

We review drawings, understand access constraints, and coordinate with other trades before we book a start date. Showing up unprepared is not something we do.

04

We Are Easy to Work With

We respond quickly, communicate directly, and don't create problems. For GCs who need a specialty partner they can rely on, that matters as much as installation quality.

05

Ontario-Based, Nationally Capable

We know the Ontario market well. For the right scope in another province, we'll tell you plainly whether we can help — and if we can, we bring the same standard of work.
